The Story Behind Raia
Raia started from frustration.
Not the dramatic kind - the quiet, nagging kind that builds every time you try to plan a holiday that’s meant to be a break… and it just feels harder than it should.
As a family of five, I was constantly running into the same problem.
Rooms that technically slept five, but only just. Prices that jumped massively because we were forced into booking an extra room we didn’t actually need. And endless scrolling through options that looked great on paper, but didn’t really work for us in real life.
What I wanted wasn’t complicated.
Space for all of us.
Comfort without wasting money.
And a holiday that felt like a holiday for everyone - not just the kids, and not just the adults.
Because yes, of course I wanted plenty for the children to do. But I also wanted somewhere we could properly relax. Somewhere that didn’t feel like hard work, or compromise, or survival mode in the sun.
And that’s where the idea for Raia began.
I realised that so many families are in exactly the same position - trying to balance different needs, different ages, different ideas of what “a good holiday” actually means. And yet so much of the booking process feels rushed, overwhelming, or geared towards one-size-fits-all solutions.
Raia was created to slow that down.
To take the time to really understand how you travel, what matters to you, and what will make your holiday feel easy rather than exhausting. To look beyond glossy photos and star ratings, and focus on things like space, flow, atmosphere, and whether somewhere genuinely works for your family - not just in theory, but in practice.
It’s about finding places where kids can be kids, and parents can actually switch off too. Where no one feels like they’re missing out. And where the holiday starts to feel calm before you’ve even packed your suitcase.
Raia isn’t about booking the most holidays.
It’s about booking the right ones.
And it started with me simply wanting something better for my own family - and realising that a lot of other people want exactly the same thing.
Raia was built for families who want holidays that work for everyone.
